CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A tornado ripped a path of destruction through Macks Creek on Monday night, leaving homes damaged, and a local woman’s trailer completely decimated.

A powerful line of storms pushed through the warm-and-windy Lake of the Ozarks area between 10 p.m. and midnight on March 6, triggering tornado sirens across the Lake area. The region was under a tornado warning from about 10:30 until 11:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Springfield confirmed before noon on Tuesday that the storm had produced an EF-1 tornado. That tornado left a quarter-mile-wide swath of destruction in its wake, for two miles. Winds in the area topped 100 miles per hour, according to the NWS.

At that home, the wind ripped soffit off the front porch, blew through the attic, blew the attic stairs down into the garage, and then ripped the garage door open. The house, in a sense, opened up and let the wind through.
