The second annual Cannonball Run brought over $118,000 for community organizations with an estimated $700k+ impact to the local economy, organizers have announced.

The event challenges participants to spend money with local businesses: bringing in receipts earns additional poker hands. Winners earn big prizes.

The press release from the Cannonball Run team is below.

The second annual Cannonball Run is making waves throughout the Lake of the Ozarks community, generating an impressive $118,973 for our local community and other charitable organizations while creating an estimated $706,000 in local spending impact.

Building on the success of its inaugural year, the Cannonball Run continues to demonstrate the power of community partnerships, local businesses, and volunteers coming together for a greater cause. This year’s event supported 14 charities, helping provide meaningful resources to organizations making a difference throughout the tri-county area.

The numbers behind this year’s event tell an incredible story of community support:

  • $118,973 given back to our local community & other charitable organizations
  • 968 poker hands drawn
  • 88 sponsors who helped make the event possible
  • $706,000 in estimated local spending impact
  • 14 charities receiving funding
  • 2,062 volunteer hours contributed

For event organizer Ron Duggan, the success of the second year is about more than the numbers. It’s about building something that can continue to grow and make an even greater difference.

“We’re growing, and this being our second year, we’re learning what works and making adjustments to continue that growth. To already be making this kind of significant impact in just our second year is something we’re incredibly proud of. We’re excited about what the future holds and the difference we can continue to make in our local communities,” said Duggan.

Beyond the charitable contributions, the Cannonball Run provides a meaningful boost to the local economy. From participating businesses and sponsors to visitors, vendors, and volunteers, the event brings people together while encouraging spending and supporting businesses throughout the Lake of the Ozarks area.

The success of the Cannonball Run would not be possible without the generosity of its sponsors, the dedication of thousands of volunteer hours, the participating charities, and the community members who continue to show up and support the mission.

As the event looks ahead, organizers remain focused on building upon this momentum, strengthening partnerships, and expanding its impact for years to come.

The Cannonball Run is proving that when a community comes together, great things happen.
