CAMDENTON, Mo. — Some Camdenton residents and businesses will be without water for a short time Tuesday morning as City crews work to cap an old water line.
According to a press release, water service will be interrupted starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, and is expected to last about an hour or less. Streets affected include Lakeview, South/North Ozark, South/North High, and Banner. Businesses along West Highway 54 from Lakeview to the Laker Fishing Tackle property will also be impacted.
A boil advisory will be issued for the affected area once water service is restored. City officials anticipate lifting the advisory by Thursday, Feb. 12, pending satisfactory water sample results.
During the boil advisory, customers are advised to boil water for three minutes before using it for drinking or cooking, avoid using ice from automatic ice makers, and remake ice using boiled water. Dishes and food-contact surfaces should be washed and then immersed for one minute in tap water mixed with one teaspoon of unscented bleach per gallon.
Residents who notice cloudy water or air in their lines should flush their taps to clear them. The city said it will notify the public when repairs are complete through its Facebook page.
For questions, residents can contact City Hall at 573-346-3600 during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This article was edited Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. to reflect a correction from the City regarding the boil advisory date. The City apologized for any inconveniences or panic it may have caused.
