SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. – With the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing closures hitting the Lake where it hurts, some local restaurants have managed to offer curbside or even dockside service. And one lakefront restaurant, perched on a bluff, has even managed to add a little touch of whimsy to this less-than-perfect situation.
Paradise Tropical Restaurant & Bar has launched their zipline service, available 7 days a week: lakefront dinner descending from Paradise!
This clever idea was initially thought of by Paradise's head of maintenance, Richard Enyart, as a joke. Restaurants were figuring out how to provide dockside service, so Enyart suggested a zipline from Paradise to the docks. Within 48 hours, the idea was put into action!Â
According to representatives from Paradise, "It took some getting used to, and we've spilt some drinks, but we've worked out the kinks. Customers arrive and even record their food being delivered via zipline."
The solution has been very popular. Once the food arrives by zipline, many boaters are enjoying lunch or dinner on the water as they float and eat.
Paradise plans to keep their zipline up and going even after the pandemic is over. They've also hinted they might release some zipline blooper videos in the near future.
