Lake area marine dealers are coming together to support the bereaved family of Jessica Brazil and her infant son Malachi, who were killed last month in a car wreck.

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association (LOMDA) announced today that members will donate money for each boat sold during the month of April. The LOMDA associate members have agreed to also donate money from their main sales to help the family. Jessica Brazil was the general manager of Advantage Marine. Left behind are Jessica’s husband Eddie and two children. Jessica had deep roots in the Lake’s boating community, as her family owns Advantage Marine, and she was set to take over the family business.

The Marine Dealers Association board of directors was in favor of this effort. LOMDA says the agreement among members shows what a close-knit community the marine dealers of the Lake area are and how eager they are to help one of their own.

A bank account has also been set up for Jessica’s family. Friends of Brazil Family at Central Bank-Laurie, MO 65037 will take any deposits and the funds then will be delivered to her family.

Mike Kenagy, Executive Director of LOMDA, praised local dealers for the decision. "Thank you for the support for one of our family, during this time. It is great to see all of the members of LOMDA come together for one of our own," Kenagy said.

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association is made up of over 60 Lake area marine related businesses.
