TRUMAN LAKE, Mo. — A Warsaw man drowned while kayaking in Truman Lake’s Clear Creek Cove.
The drowning occurred the evening of March 14, but the Patrol's drowning incident report did not show the information until recently.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 40-year-old, who was reportedly not wearing a life jacket, was paddling in high winds at Clear Creek Cove when he fell out of his kayak. Authorities say the water temperature contributed to his drowning.
Emergency responders, including multiple state troopers, were called to the scene around 8:10 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead and released to the Benton County Coroner.Â
