LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Two docks broke loose at a local marina on Friday night, and 10 people had to be rescued as a result.
The incident occurred at Moorings Yacht Club. According to Osage Beach Fire Protection District Chief Jeff Dorhauer, an emergency call came in just before 6 p.m. on May 19 reporting the docks had broken loose. Ten people were stranded on the docks, Dorhauer reported.
Osage Beach Fire Boat Marine 11 responded to the scene and was able to remove the individuals from the docks and return them to solid ground.
Dorhauer said he was unsure why the docks had broken loose, though he said wind was the likely culprit.
A phone call to Moorings for comment went unanswered on Monday.
