Lake Of The Ozarks Amusement Park Opening Pushed To 2027, As New Ride Appears On The Horizon

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — The development group for the Oasis at Lakeport amusement complex says eager guests will have to wait a little longer for the opening of the $500-million waterfront attraction.

Workers have been busy at the jobsite next to the Grand Glaize (Phylicia Carson) Bridge, and last week saw a significant change to the skyline as a large crane and a new ride were assembled. However, developers say the project won't meet the previously-stated fall 2026 target; they now say the park will be open in time for the 2027 tourist season.

"The Plunge's ride carriage seats 12 and slowly rotates, giving every rider a breathtaking Lake view before the unexpected drop," explained Todd Schneider, Operating Partner. "The ride is also designed with various descent programs, allowing it to deliver thrills while remaining family-friendly."

The newest attraction to hit the Oasis skyline is a green tower. Called “The Plunge,” the 100-foot-tall family tower ride will be one of the tallest structures in the area—the same height as Ha Ha Tonka's iconic Natural Bridge—and will be a centerpiece at Oasis.

Developers say the ride is one of 12 amusement attractions planned for the lakeside destination, which is scheduled to begin opening in phases in spring 2027. Previously the intent had been to open the park before the end of 2026. However, the development group says, the amusement park, parking garage, and boat slips are now set to open in the first phase next year.

Residents and visitors at the Lake will get to watch more rides appear at the Oasis throughout this summer.

Guests will be able to access the amusement park with no admission fees or parking fees—for vehicles or boats. When tickets go on sale, guests can purchase unlimited rides through discounted bundles or buy single-ride tickets.

"Our guests can arrive by boat or car, ride a roller coaster, enjoy a high-quality dining experience, play games, and share thrilling ride experiences at their leisure," Schneider said. "We are focused on delivering safe, high-quality attractions and experiences that will appeal to every Lake visitor."

Once the first phase is implemented, a Marriott Resort & Conference Center and the state's largest indoor water park will follow. Developers plan for Oasis to operate as a year-round destination featuring multiple restaurants and a wide range of attractions, including: two roller coasters, a nearly 200-foot-tall observation wheel, and a 401-room resort.
