SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. — The cold weather may be inconvenient for some, but the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District sees it as a prime opportunity for some training.

The district conducted ice rescue training at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, at Captain Ron’s Bar and Grill located off Highway 5 in Sunrise Beach.

The training consisted of a short lecture followed by practical exercises in which firefighters used cold water immersion suits to enter the Lake and recover live role players.
