LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. (LakeExpo.com) – As morning rain tapers into mostly cloudy boating conditions Saturday and only occasional showers Sunday, marinas are holding the price of gas stable.

Several marina owners reported a nickel increase in the price of wholesale gas, but most are hopeful cost could trend downward as the official boating season nears. Whether or not any substantial savings will be seen before Memorial Day is uncharted territory, but when the commodity finally breaks local marinas generally pass the savings along to customers as a matter of standard practice.

It appears likely this could be delayed by flood conditions threatening domestic refining capacity.

Right now, depending on the marina of choice this weekend, boaters will pay anywhere from $3.999 to $4.429. Gasoline on land is pumping at approximately $3.699 on the east side and $3.799 on the west.

CRUDE & GAS

Gasoline futures edged up as fears the Mississippi River flooding could disrupt refinery production over the weekend helped prices move higher.

Light, sweet crude for June delivery gained 68 cents, or 0.7%, to $99.65 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

June gasoline added 1 cent to $3.07 a gallon. It traded as high as $3.14 a gallon earlier. On the week, gasoline lost 0.6%.
