LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The Shootout on the Strip Street Party returns, Wednesday, Aug. 23! Here's what you should know to plan ahead for one of the biggest parties of the year.

#1. What/When/Where

The Street Party takes place on the Historical Bagnell Dam Strip from 5-10 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23. Popular with young and old, the event puts powerboats on display up and down the Bagnell Dam Strip.

#2. Traffic

Road closures and parking can make or break an evening if you're uninformed, so check out the following traffic plan:

Shootout Street Party Traffic Plan 2023

Traffic -- What To Know:

• Bagnell Dam Blvd will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. from School Road to the Dam

• After school dismissal around 4 p.m., the Bagnell Dam Blvd closure will extend up to Henderson Road

• For traffic, a detour will be provided around Valley Road

• Bagnell Dam Blvd will also be closed from Mount Carmel Baptist Church to the Dam for a time after 9 a.m. when boats are brought to the staging area

• School of the Osage parents will need to use the detour for pick up if they're coming from or to the North Shore area from 9 a.m. onward. Two volunteers will be at Heritage Elementary starting at 8 a.m. to keep people out of the lot until school is finished.

#3. A Bigger-And-Better Street Party

For the first time, the Shootout On The Strip will have food trucks!

Open containers will be permitted from School Road all the way down to Bagnell Dam.

Organizers are expecting around 135 boats -- a huge increase from previous years. For contrast: last year, a single boat representing Dave's Custom Boats (DCB) came to the Street Party. This year, Shootout Director Leah Martin expects 15 DCB powerboats to line the Strip.

#4. Parking

• Designated parking areas are setup for Street Party attendees.

• The best parking is at the old campground below Bagnell Dam. Parking is $10 with a free shuttle to the Strip. The parking area will be accessible via the Valley Road detour.

• Early Childhood Center will offer free handicap parking

NOTICE: Due to the new weight-limit on the Bagnell Dam bridge, powerboats will not be brought across the bridge so there will not be the traditional "parade of boats" as the participants arrive. Organizers are asking everyone to stay clear of the setup area until the boats are in-place at around 5 p.m.
