LAKE OF THE OZARKS — Harbor Hoppers will help Millstone Marina celebrate the Lakefront hotspot's brand-new look and expanded amenities, with a Grand Opening event on Saturday.
Millstone Marina, at the 7 Mile Marker, is an official Spring Harbor Hop checkpoint, and the marina's Sea Store is opening this weekend in time for the official kickoff to summer boating. The Grand Opening event will run from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Millstone's new owners, Jeff and Kim Howell, will be offering free pulled pork sandwiches and t-shirts (until they run out) as harbor hoppers pick up a poker card.
Jeff and Kim purchased the iconic Lake of the Ozarks business last fall. They spent the offseason pouring into a huge renovation, and now they say they're eager for boaters to come check it out. “We want this to be a place where families can get everything they need for a day out on the lake, without ever having to leave the water,” Jeff said. He also promises not to price-gouge tourists, but to keep prices comparable to on-land grocery stores.
Inside the Sea Store: a cold walk-in beer cave, liquor, groceries, lunch and snack items, toiletries, bait and tackle and more. “This part of the Lake has been missing a great convenience store,” Jeff said. Boaters can also enjoy a lakeside lunch while watching the main channel action from the new deck.

The Sea Store Gas Docks sport covered slips for boaters fueling up, with Diesel, 87 Octane and 93 Ethanol free gas; their boats are shielded from the main channel by the new 400 ft. seawall. And—a pleasant surprise—everyone who fills up their gas tank can fill up their coolers with ice for free!
Being on the 7-mile marker puts Millstone a short distance from some of the most popular hotspots at the Lake of the Ozarks: dining, dancing and live music are just a short journey up the channel at Tuckers Shuckers, Beavers at the Dam, Frankie and Louie’s, Jolly Rogers, Tap & Grill, Coconuts and the Bagnell Dam Strip. That also puts Millstone Marina near some popular Lake of the Ozarks events, from Lake Race, to the Stereo Shootout, to Super Cat Fest.
Want to rent a boat or jet ski? Millstone offers that too, thanks to a partnership with Iguana Watersports.
Millstone Marina's Boat Slip Rentals pair a quiet cove with a stunning panoramic view of the main channel. “A lot of the people here are long-term rentals. They come down to the Lake and stay from Thursday through Sunday. They sleep on their boat and hang out on the docks,” Jeff said. Some of the boat slip renters have customized their deck/dock space with patio furniture. The atmosphere is one of a laid-back, Lakeside community of friends. “They have neighborhood block parties, and hang out on their boats all weekend,” Jeff said. Slip rental perks include hot showers, bathrooms, on-the-dock pump-outs, water, electricity, a full-service marina and—of course—the Sea Store & Gas Dock. “You can jump in your boat for an evening out at all the exciting LOZ hotspots just around the corner,” Kim said. Millstone's 166 boat slips have been selling fast, too: there were only 25 slips available, as of this writing.
Millstone also has a 9,000 sq. ft. marina service center, complete with a paint shop for bottom painting, buffing and waxing, and teak wood refinishing. They also have boat parts in stock.
Jeff and Kim say they're not through growing Millstone. They're planning to add storage units for their boat slip owners' golf carts and boat toys. They also expect to have 30 cruiser slips, measuring 18 x 55 ft., by January 2019. There are also plans to add a campground on the picturesque 25-acre bluff that overlooks the Lake of the Ozarks, just above the marina. “We will have full utility hook-ups and year-round rental options,” Jeff said. “Every campsite will have a full, gorgeous main-channel view.” Plans are to keep as many trees as feasible to minimize the human footprint during design and excavation. As word gets out about the campground, Jeff and Kim say they have already received reservation requests and it’s not even built yet!
