'It's The Right Time To Buy A Boat': Here's What Big Thunder's Bringing To This Weekend's Show

Now is the time to buy a boat.

That’s not an empty sales pitch: Thad Jameson, Director of Sales at Big Thunder Marine, says boat buyers at the Fall In-Water Boat Show at Captain Ron’s this weekend will find deals that haven’t been available over the past few years.

From 2020 to 2022, a combination of a red-hot market and supply-chain woes left many boat dealers with sparse inventory and admittedly higher prices, especially by the time the Fall In-Water Boat Show rolled around. But that’s all changed. Jameson says thanks to a normalizing of the market and restored supply chains, boat-buyers could save hundreds or thousands of dollars on a boat this weekend versus buying the same model a year or two ago.

Big Thunder Marine is especially promoting their 4.99% interest rate (for qualified buyers). “People have been sitting on their hands, given the current interest rates… waiting for the ‘right time to buy,’” Jameson explained. But with this competitive rate, he says Big Thunder has “made it the right time to buy.”

For the Fall In-Water Show, Big Thunder will have six boats in the water and a dozen tritoons at the neighboring Scallywags RV Campground.

In-Water Boat Show Hours:

-Friday, Sept. 22 --

-Saturday, Sept. 23 --

-Sunday, Sept. 24 --

Here’s a look at a few of the boats Big Thunder is bringing:

Featured Boat

2024 Jeanneau Leader 10.5 Center Console

The Jeanneau 10.5 has already proven popular with Lake buyers. “Five of these are on the Lake now, and there are more on the way,” Jameson said. He describes it as a “big day-boat.”

The 10.5 has a surprisingly spacious cabin, but this boat is really about enjoying time in the open air. With two generous cockpits, and an immense side door with an integrated swim ladder for easy access to the water, the 10.5 CC is a standing invitation for fun and relaxation.

Center-Console Powerboat

2023 Fountain 32NX

Rigged with triple Mercury 300s, this Fountain center console puts the power in powerboating. Seating abounds: forward, aft, and in between, this is a boat for a fast day on the water with friends.

Wakesports Boat

MasterCraft XT24

Thanks to the size and power, MasterCraft’s unique SurfStar system, and carefully engineered ballast placement, the XT24 delivers an incredible experience. At 24 feet and with room for 17, this model offers the most in size, storage, and seating of all the models in the XT family. Top it off with smart telematics capabilities for a premium on-water experience at every touchpoint.

The Fall In-Water Boat Show gives dealers the opportunity to offer especially good pricing to buyers as they clear out this year’s models. And with the boats in the water — and the weather still warm — buyers can even take their dream boat for a spin to make sure it’s the one they love.
