LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — A kneeboarder was hospitalized on Wednesday night after being hit by a boat, on Lake of the Ozarks in the Warsaw area.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 29-year-old Tyler Decker, of Warsaw, had been pulling 41-year-old John Decker on a kneeboard behind a 2007 Lowe jonboat, between 8 – 8:30 p.m. John Decker had fallen off the kneeboarder, the Patrol says, and was floating in the water, so Tyler Decker slowed the boat. According to the report, 45-year-old Matthew Gardner, of Warsaw was driving a 1976 Crestliner that direction and veered left to avoid the jonboat, but did not see the kneeboarder in the water.
The right-rear area of the Crestliner hit John Decker, causing serious injuries. He was flown to University Hospital for treatment.
