The Regal 33 SAV, exclusively sold by Kelly's Port at Lake of the Ozarks, is an adventure vehicle for the boating world, and it checks all the right boxes. At its core lies a 34-foot, outboard-powered, center console, which by default makes it a big, capable boat with loads of deck space for all the add-ons you could want. That room also allows for an airy cabin with fore and aft berths and yacht-like fit and finish.Â
The “SAV” stands for Sports Activity Vessel, and, truly, it’s hard to imagine a limit when it comes to ways to use the craft.
The bow offers U-shaped seating with an optional teak table that can be lowered, and cushions inserted, to create a sun pad. Under-seat storage eats up loads of towels, swim fins, masks, etc. Drop your anchor with the push of a button using the windlass and keep out of the sun thanks to the Bahama Sunshade System (both options).
The portside walkway provides easy access to and from the bow and leads to a side-entry door that makes the perfect place to dive in with your scuba gear or step onto the dock.
The helm console features triple captains chairs with flip-up bolsters and armrests, protected by a hardtop and facing a dash that can hold two add-on Garmin7612xsv + B60 Transducer units to put you on the fish.
Speaking of which, one of the primary sports in the Regal 33 SAV’s arsenal is fishing. Under-gunnel storage holds your rods, gaff or boat hook. The cockpit refreshment center with solid-surface countertop, sink, trash can and storage drawers doubles as a bait-prep station (add a refrigerator, electric grill and flatscreen TV for more frills). Fold the transom bench down for more line-wrangling room.Â
Ready to take it to the next level? Add the fish package for a live well, fish box with macerator, transom rod holders and raw-water washdown. You can even rig the boat with 15-foot telescoping outriggers for sky’s-the-limit angling.Â
Back in the cockpit, an in-floor storage locker holds your fenders or dive tanks. Access to the swim platform is via the transom door — blue LED underwater lights add serious style points here.
In fact, the Regal 33 SAV shows off attention to detail and good looks throughout, from its diamond-stitched upholstery and stainless-steel hardware to its large hull-side windows and wood-finished cabin.
You step down into the latter from the helm and enter a space with standup headroom and features including a microwave, Fusion stereo system and forward settee that converts to a double berth with a push-button control. Aft, the queen berth has a plush headboard and adjacent dressing seat. The cabin is served by a private head with hand-craft cabinetry, vanity and walk-in shower stall.
