Tornado South Of Camdenton

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A possible tornado was spotted in the Camdenton area on Sunday, as storms blasted the Lake area.

The photo above and video below — taken not far from each other — show a funnel-shaped cloud descending south of Camdenton. It's not yet confirmed whether there was indeed tornadic rotation or the cloud touched the ground in that instance, but authorities were reporting the storm system had been repeatedly dropping tornadoes which touched down and then dissipated.

Based on the location and orientation of the photo and video, the possible tornado appeared to be tracking across the northern part of Ha Ha Tonka State Park.

Tornado spotted around noon, near Lake of the Ozarks & Ha Ha Tonka State Park, in Camdenton. 4-20-25. Video courtesy Daniel Carnahan.

Areas of Camden County were placed under a tornado warning before noon, and it extended until 12:30.

A tornado watch is in effect across a 44-county region of Missouri until 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 20.

The Lake area and other counties are also under a flash flood warning and flood watch.
