LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Just in time for late-summer and fall camping season, Lake of the Ozarks State Park unveiled major upgrades to its campground, giving visitors more options and modern amenities for their next getaway.

Section 4 of the campground, which had been closed since November 2024, has officially reopened after extensive renovations that added 25 new campsites equipped with water, sewer, and 50-amp electrical service. Additionally, four new yurts have been built in Section 2, offering a unique stay for those seeking a cabin-style experience without bringing their own RV or tent.

Starting August 14, campers could begin reserving sites 103–110, 112–120, and 160–167, as well as Yurts C through F. Officials note that campsite numbers in the renovated section have been renumbered, so guests should pay close attention when booking. A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the improvements is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 28.

The project is part of Missouri State Parks’ revenue bond improvements taking place statewide. More information about these projects can be found at mostateparks.com/revenue-bonds.
