CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — Two people were arrested on meth charges in Camdenton, early Wednesday morning.
According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, at 2:55 a.m. on Oct. 28, deputies stopped a white Chevy Impala with a non-functioning license plate light, driving on Business Route 5.
The arresting officer said the vehicle occupants were reluctant to give their identity, but ultimately they did, and two were found to be on probation—even though one reportedly lied about her name. The deputy told them he would be searching the vehicle due to the probation conditions; he later reported that as some of the occupants exited the vehicle, another officer pointed to a syringe on the floorboard. Three other syringes were found, with authorities reporting three of the four contained liquid methamphetamine.
Chloe Jean Heather, of California, Mo. (who had initially given her sister’s name, Nicole, according to authorities) and Gary Leo House Jr, of Camdenton, were arrested and taken to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility.
Authorities also say they found a bag of powder on House Jr as he was being searched at the jail; the bag was later determined to contain methamphetamine.
Heather is charged with the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance and the Class A Misdemeanor of Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia. She is being held on a $1,000 cash bond and several outstanding warrants.
House is charged with two counts of the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of the Class A Misdemeanor of Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held on a $1,500 cash bond.
