Blake Litton

Three-year-old Blake Litton was killed on Feb. 16, 2012. Thomas “T.J.” Presley was found guilty of his murder on Jan. 28, 2015. Blake's mother, Jamie Litton, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

LACLEDE COUNTY, Mo. — On July 6, 2015, in a Laclede County Courthouse still draped with three-story-tall American flags for the Independence Day celebration, Judge Kenneth Hayden announced there would be a new trial date set for Jamie Litton who has been charged with First Degree Murder and Abuse Of Child Resulting In Death.

Morgan County Prosecutor, Dustin Dunklee, explained in an interview that the State will not oppose a motion filed for a change of venue because of the news coverage surrounding Litton's pregnancy. Litton became pregnant by a male inmate while in custody for her three-year-old son Blake’s death.

The initial charges were filed after Litton’s boyfriend, Thomas Presley, beat Litton’s son so badly the child died from the injuries. Authorities say Presley brought the child to Litton’s place of employment after the beating, but Litton reportedly did nothing to provide medical attention for the child. On March 27, 2015, Judge Hayden sentenced Presley to life in prison for the death of Blake Litton.
