Is Gen Z Going Analog? What State Rep. Jeff Vernetti And I Noticed At Church | Take On The Lake
Maybe the kids are onto something.
State Rep. Jeff Vernetti and I are Millennials who remember life before the smartphone took over. And while talking about our own efforts to put the phone down, we got into something we've both been noticing among Gen Z, especially at church.
Some young people seem to have healthy digital boundaries. They even seem drawn to analog life.
Paper books instead of Kindle. Physical Bibles instead of Bible apps. Sitting around a table together. And, sometimes, just not having the phone on them at all.
Jeff’s church keeps actual Bibles available for anybody who wants one.
It's wild how countercultural that feels.
The generation raised with the most technology may be discovering something older generations forgot:
Not everything gets better when you put it on a screen.
From Take On The Lake Ep. 42 with Missouri State Rep. Jeff Vernetti.
