Arctic Glacier Washes Ashore At Lake Of The Ozarks Home After Major Storms

The Lake of the Ozarks is no stranger to oddities, but one resident wasn’t expecting to find a massive ice box bobbing in the water near her home in Camdenton last week.

Michelle Meyer took to Facebook March 25, sharing some interesting photos with the caption: "Look what the wind drug in!!!"

There on the shore was an Arctic Glacier from a nearby gas dock. "Neighbor asked what kind of party we were having," she added.

After the neighbor joked, they ended up calling Arctic Glacier about the situation.

"They couldn't believe it," Meyer said. "The company called their guy down here. He showed up and couldn't quite believe it either."

Meyer said the rep had tipped the 300+ lb cooler and released the drain, pushing it up on dry land. And the eyesore sat there for days...until now.

"The Lake rose just enough overnight, and the wind is back. It tipped back over," Meyer explained, though it luckily stayed close to the shore. "I was able to go four houses down, get on their walkway, and reach the handle to secure it with a rope on the dock."

She was told a rep would arrive Thursday to remove the cooler.

"Poor guy," Meyer said. "I'm sure that 'cooler water retrieval' wasn't in the job description!"
