Water Patrol Boats On Lake Of The Ozarks

Troopers will be out in full-force on land and water this Fourth of July Holiday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol announced all available troopers will be patrolling Missouri roadways and waterways. At Lake of the Ozarks, the Patrol will participate in Operation Dry Water to stop impaired boaters in their tracks.

In 2024, 14 people were killed and 560 were injured during traffic crashes over the holiday. Troopers arrested 149 people for driving while intoxicated and 12 people for boating while intoxicated. It was also reported that there were 10 boating crashes, which caused 7 injuries and no fatalities.

Boaters in Missouri are asked to always do their part by remaining alert for other boats and swimmers, and to always be courteous when on the water. It is important to not operate a vessel if you have consumed alcohol.

Boaters are also reminded that it is illegal to discharge fireworks from a vessel.

Anyone needing assistance or who witnesses criminal activity while traveling on Missouri’s roadways or waterways should use the Highway Patrol's Emergency Assistance number 1-800-525-5555 (or *55 on a cellular phone).

For road condition reports, travelers can visit the MoDOT website to view their traveler map or download the MoDOT app.
