OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — A brand-new community dog park will be unveiled during the annual Osage Beach Fall Festival at City Park. The Osage Beach Lowe’s Bark Park was built in partnership with Lowe’s Hometowns and will open on Saturday, Oct. 12, during the festival.
“We’re excited to partner with Lowe’s to offer this fantastic resource to our community,” said Eric Gregory, Osage Beach Parks and Recreation Department Manager. "The dog park promotes physical activity, socialization, and responsible pet ownership. It will be an outstanding addition to Osage Beach City Park."
The 1.2-acre off-leash dog park was constructed using $50,000 worth of materials donated by Lowe’s, with support from their Osage Beach, Lebanon, and Jefferson City locations. Lowe’s volunteers worked alongside city Parks and Public Works crews to bring the project to life, although construction will continue into the fall.
"Lowe's Hometowns is all about bringing neighbors together to improve community spaces where neighbors can gather, like our dog park," said Jesse Campbell, Lowe’s of Osage Beach Store Manager. "We are proud to put our passion for giving back, love for pets, and DIY know-how to work to make our community better for all.”
Bark Park will feature separate gated sections for large and small breed dogs, water stations, shaded areas, picnic tables, seating for owners, and waste stations with cleanup supplies.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Osage Beach Mayor Michael Harmison and Alderman Justin Hoffman, will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a pet Halloween costume contest with prizes for the best costumes. Dogwood Animal Shelter will also be on site with adoptable pets.
The Fall Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Osage Beach City Park, and the dog park will follow City Park’s regular hours, open from 7 a.m. until sunset. Pets attending the event must remain leashed until inside the Bark Park.
