Citizens of Camden County,

My office is aware, as are many of you, of pending litigation against one of my deputies stemming from an arrest he made two years ago this month. Due to the public interest in this lawsuit, I feel it is my duty to inform you, the citizens of this community, where I stand.

Mr. Neal Sidebottom was lawfully arrested during an altercation at Ballparks National. My staff and I deny the allegations made in his lawsuit. Deputy Downing is an experienced and conscientious law enforcement officer and has my full support. The Camden County Sheriff's Office will vigorously defend this matter in court.

Thank you to our community for you

Sincerely,

Sheriff Chris Edgar
