LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — A boater was hospitalized on Thursday after reportedly crashing into a bridge pillar with a Jet Ski.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 58-year-old man from Topeka, Kan. was driving a 2023 Kawasaki jet ski near a bridge to a small island on the Little Niangua Arm of the Lake — located at 341 Little Island Dr., Roach — when he struck the bridge pillar.

The collision caused extensive damage to the Jet Ski and the boater had minor injuries. He was taken by Mid County Fire Protection District to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.
