AGAIN! Two Boats Got Lodged On Lake Of The Ozarks’ Hidden Underwater Ledge, Last Weekend

Boat Stuck On Underwater Ledge At Lake Of The Ozarks - In Front Of Four Seasons

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The infamous underwater ledge at Lake of the Ozarks snagged two more hapless boaters last weekend.

According to Travis Coleman, owner of Lake Tow, LLC, the Lake’s main boat-towing operation, his company was called for both incidents, however in both cases the boaters managed to dislodge on their own with (hopefully) still intact hulls.

One boater, Coleman said, managed to push through to the other side of the ridge and carried on. Another got help from a pontoon full of men who clambered out onto the submerged rocks and literally lifted the stuck boat high enough off the rocks that it could float to freedom. (Editor's Note: The photo above is of the boat that infamously got stuck in June 2023.)

Coleman says the buoys signifying the underwater hazard had been curiously removed from the ledge prior to these incidents, but they have since been returned.

It’s unknown how many boats get their bottoms scraped by the ledge in the main channel near the Lodge of Four Seasons every year, but the site gained prominence in 2023 after a large cruiser got hung-up there and then subsequently capsized. The owner abandoned the boat and it has been beached at the shoreline in front of the Lodge of Four Seasons ever since.
