LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — It's been a quiet winter so far, but snowy weather may be finally here, with the National Weather Service predicting up to 2 inches of snow for the Lake area from Friday night to Saturday evening.
According to NHS, the highest accumulations are possible across central Missouri into the eastern Missouri Ozarks. The possibility of the Ozarks receiving at least a trace of snow is 93%, the chances of getting at least 2 inches is 61% and there's a 24% chance of 4 inches or more, according to the NWS calculations.
However, before you get too excited about snow angels and sledding, the forecast confidence is only at medium levels and NWS says that the direction of the system and surface temperatures on the ground will impact potential snowfall.
LakeExpo will continue to provide weather updates as the NWS updates their forecast.
