LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and Freeze Warning for the Lake of the Ozarks area, with snow and near-record freezing temps expected Tuesday, April 20.
The ground is warm, but the NWS says snowfall beginning Tuesday morning will extend into Tuesday afternoon, and could result in slushy road conditions for a time. The snowfall could be heavy at times, the NWS says, with some areas in the central-Missouri and southeast Kansas region seeing up to 3 inches of snow on Tuesday.
Tuesday night and early Wednesday, temperatures will plunge, with a Tuesday-night low forecast of 29 degrees. Sensitive plants should be brought inside, and vulnerable plumbing should be protected.
The record low temperature for April 21 at Lake of the Ozarks is 30 degrees, according to NWS records.
