LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The Lake area and most of south-central and southwestern Missouri are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch today.
The National Weather Service says a weak front will be moving through Missouri, bringing the possibility for strong to severe thunderstorms Monday and Monday night, capable of producing up to half-dollar-sized hail, straight line winds over 60 mph, and a low risk of an isolated tornado.
Thunderstorm chances will increase into Tuesday and through Thursday, and the NWS says there is some potential for flooding, but it’s not yet clear where the heaviest rain will fall. Moderate temperatures are expected this week, with highs in the mid to low 80s and lows in the upper 60s. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the upper 50s by the weekend.
