LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The National Weather Service says powerful thunderstorms moving through the Missouri Ozarks today will be accompanied by severe and possibly damaging weather.
According to the NWS’s Hazardous Weather Outlook, the storms on Wednesday will bring an elevated risk of hail and high winds, with the possibility for localized flooding, where rainfall is heavy.
Winds could gust up to 60 mph, and up to quarter-sized hail could accompany the storms, the NWS predicted. By 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Flash Flood Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were in effect for some areas of Camden, Miller, Morgan, and Benton counties.
Periodic heavy rainfall is possible through at least Friday, the weather service said, with daily chances for thunderstorms into early next week.
