Robert Darrel Haldiman

Robert Darrel Haldiman, age 66, of Fortuna, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at his home. He was born August 15, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, a son of Lester Robert and Gwendolyn June (Mullins) Haldiman.

On February 15, 1986 in Springfield, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Lowry. Together they shared the past thirty-three years of marriage. 

Darrel lived most of his life in Fortuna, Missouri, having graduated from Tipton High School in the class of 1970. He traveled with the Singer Racing Team after high school and later began a career as a truck driver. 

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. Target shooting was something he spent many hours doing. He was also talented at playing the guitar and painting.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Haldiman of the home; two children, Jessie Haldiman of Birmingham, Alabama and Kasey Doyel and husband Nathan of Fortuna, Missouri; a granddaughter, Taelyn Doyel; a sister, Barbara Baldwin and husband Danny of Hoover, Alabama and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Haldiman; his mother, Gwen Cox; a brother, James “Jim” Haldiman; an aunt, Barbara Kasper and an uncle, Ronnie Mullins.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Hospice or Disabled American Veterans.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
