Obituary of Lonnie Rex Ahart
Lonnie Rex Ahart, age 95, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born in Miller County on August 30, 1925, son of the late James Earl and Chlora (Crane) Ahart. On September 11, 1949, in Eldon, Lonnie was united in marriage to Norma Graham, who survives.
Lonnie worked at Osage Products and ran his own sawmill for many years. He took pride and enjoyment in working on tractors, especially his Allis Chalmers.
In addition to his loving wife, Norma Ahart, he is also survived by one daughter, Brenda Young and husband Charles of Republic; three sons, Bob Ahart and wife Sheila of Tuscumbia, Ron Ahart and wife Rhonda of Henley, and Richard Ahart and wife Margaret of Tuscumbia; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, June Ahart and Marilyn Carico; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Ahart and infant sister.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 25, at Gott Cemetery in Ulman with Bro. David Visser officiating.
Masks and social distancing at the cemetery are highly encouraged at the cemetery.
