Lois Dean Pemberton, age 92, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Miller County, on January 4, 1927, daughter of the late Miller and Clara (Weitz) Bond. On July 3, 1943, in Tuscumbia, Lois married Orville G. Pemberton, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1987.
Lois worked outside the home at Iberia R-V, Miller County Nursing Home and various resorts at Lake Ozark. Lois had a “green thumb” and enjoyed working in her garden and around the farm.
Lois was a member of Fairview Christian Church in Iberia.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Pemberton and Paulette Duncan of Iberia and Judy Layman and husband Jim of Kirkwood; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was also preceded in death by one son, Darrell “Jimmy” Pemberton; three daughters-in-law, Kathy, Judy, and Mary Pemberton; one grandson, Eric Pemberton; and one great-grandson, James Pemberton.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., with services immediately following at 3 p.m., on Saturday, March 16, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Jim Layman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fairview Christian Church.
