Edwin Milburn

Edwin H. Milburn of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019. A celebration of his life will be held at West Lake Christian Church, 936 Highway O, Gravois Mills, Missouri on Saturday, August 24, 2019, with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Ed was born May 9, 1934, to Mildred and Leo Milburn of Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up in Kansas City and went on to graduate from Paseo High School in 1952. Edwin had a brilliant mind and was always curious to figure out how things worked and went together. Ed was a business owner, opening Quality Auto Body in 1977 and partnering with his son Mike, they opened Northtown Collision in 1984. Ed was a skilled auto body man, but made a name for himself as one of the best automotive painters in Kansas City area.

Ed married Nancy Janine Hemme on September 18, 1953, at University Heights Christian Church in Kansas City. Ed and Nancy lived in Prairie Village, Kansas for twenty years where they raised their family. Ed and family enjoyed lots of family time boating at the Lake of the Ozarks. Ed enjoyed the auto races in Lebanon, Missouri for many years. Ed was also a private pilot. Ed and Nancy were avid travelers, traversing the country several times over in their RV. Ed and Nancy square danced with the Millstone Wheelers and Jean’s and Queens Club for many years and are active members at West Lake Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Leo Milburn and his sister, Marilyn Morehead.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of the home; three children, Linda Milburn, Camdenton, MO, Mike Milburn (Desiree), Camdenton, MO and Joyce Moss (David), Prairie Village, KS; seven grandchildren, Nathan Milburn, Columbia, MO, Emily Clark, Mannford, OK, Michael Moss, Mission, KS, Jonathan Moss, Overland Park, KS, Eli Mangone, Rolla, MO, Rachael Herd, Camdenton, MO and Nick Wilmurth, McPherson, KS; four great-grandsons, Ty Clark, Mannford, OK, Greyson Wilmurth, Raytown, MO, Andrew Barger and Canaan Herd, Camdenton, MO; siblings, Claudia Downs, San Diego, CA, Janice Allison, Los Cruces, NM, Joyce Wilson, Prairie Village, KS and Millie Leader, Lee’s Summit, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
