Obituary of Doris Jenice Larson
Doris Jenice Larson, of Versailles, Missouri, passed away February 19, 2021, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover, Missouri. She was born July 24, 1933, in Warrensburg, Missouri, the daughter of Ross and Caddie (Draper) Drinkwater.
On June 1, 1952, she was united in marriage to Lon Elmo Larson. They made their home in Warrensburg where she worked for United Telephone Co., then moved to Kansas City and worked for J.C. Penney. She moved to Gravois Mills, Missouri in 1979, before settling in Versailles MO, where she retired from Wal-Mart.
Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Versailles.
She is survived by her husband Lon Larson of the home; two children Mary Virginia “Ginger” Leslie of Versailles and Steven Lon Larson and wife Lorraine of Warsaw, Missouri; five grandchildren, Robert Troumbley and wife Dana, Michael Troumbley and wife Doreen, Lauren Campbell, Dennis Larson and wife Michelle, and Calli Larson; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son Dennis Lynn, brothers Virgil, Melvin, Gene, Finis “Bud” and sisters Ruth, Wanda “June”, and Vivian.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 26th, at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Peter Norton officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles.
