Obituary of Donald Wayne Sams
Donald Wayne Sams, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, following a long battle with lung cancer, at his home in Versailles in the arms of his loving wife, Karen.
Don was 78, born November 4, 1942, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Edward Frank Sams and Goldie Joyce Gordon along with his sister, Lynda and brothers, Eddie, Jim, Gordon and his late brothers, Bobby and Steve.
Don served in the United States Navy. He was a jack of all trades who loved keeping busy and helping anyone who needed a hand. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at the creek. He was one who could be called upon for anything. It was his life pleasure in helping to build and repair of all things. He was a father who provided so much love and guidance.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his flirty personality, his compassionate heart and that smile he brought to every room. His grandchildren will always remember the tractor rides and fun adventures they had with him.
His memory will be kept alive by his loving wife, Karen and his children, Michelle N. and her family; Melinda H. and her family, Rebecca S. and her family, Dawn S. and her family, Mike B. and his family, Michelle O. and her family and Pat B. and his family.
