Denny Pendleton, age 93, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2022, at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Miller County on November 16, 1928, son of the late Osby and Susan (McKee) Pendleton.

He was a life-long resident of Miller County and in his younger years he attended Capps Elementary School and later attended high school in Tuscumbia, where he played basketball and served as president of his senior class. After the war he and his unit were awarded the Presidential Unit Citation – an award given only to units that display extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy. Denny was one of the “Chosin Few” who despite the harsh conditions bravely served his country that he loved.

He was honorably discharged on September 22, 1952. After the war, he married the love of his life, Lois Elaine Caby, on June 12, 1953, and together they raised a family of five and took great pride in caring for their farm. His many years of life have blessed him with many experiences and memories. Denny was a member of Humphrey Creek Christian Church.
