Cecil O. Stoker, age 99, of Gravois Mills, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. He was born April 24, 1920, in Lincoln, Arkansas, a son of the late Oliver Perry and Ellen (Fooks) Stoker.

In November of 1940, in Junction City, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Lillian L. Davey, who preceded him in death on October 3, 2013.

Cecil was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945.

He worked at Kansas City Power and Light and retired as a district foreman.

He and Lillian bought lake property in 1964 and established Stokers Point on the lake. In 1980, they purchased a farm and moved there in 1982.

Cecil was a member of the George W. Waddell VFW Post 5178 in Gravois Mills and was also a Shrine and Masonic Lodge member in Kansas City, Missouri.

In his younger years, he enjoyed water skiing and later in life he spent his time farming.

He is survived by his son, Carl Stoker and wife Mona Lisa of Olathe, Kansas; six grandchildren, Beth Ann Stoker, Jeff Stoker, Mark Stoker, Stacey McCullough, Shawn Stoker and Shane Stoker; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sons, Roger Stoker and Cecil Earl Stoker, his brothers, Harvey Perry Stoker, John Franklin Stoker, Marian Stoker and Paul Stoker and his sisters, Georgia, Rose and Jessie Mae.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Chad Courter officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Graveside services and interment with full military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to the George M. Waddell VFW Post 5178, Good Shepherd Care Center or Hospice Compassus.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
