Missourians said yes to medicinal marijuana, and “enough” to Senator Claire McCaskill on Tuesday, after challenger Josh Hawley beat the incumbent Democrat in a fierce race.

State Auditor Nicole Galloway (D) narrowly held her seat over challenger Republican Saundra McDowell.

U.S. Representatives for the Lake of the Ozarks area Blaine Luetkemeyer and Vicky Hartzler won handily over their challengers.

Other Statewide Issues:

Medicinal Marijuana

Missourians legalized medicinal marijuana on Tuesday, passing only one of the three issues on the ballot that would do so: Amendment 2. Amendment 3 & Proposition C both failed.

At the Lake, the majority of Camden County voters voted yes, Miller County voters were strongly for it, and Morgan County voters were also for Amendment 2.

Prop B — Minimum Wage

Missouri voters overwhelmingly approved a minimum wage hike with the aim of $12/hr by 2023. The minimum wage will first increase to $8.60/hour, with 85 cents/hour increase each year until 2023, when the state minimum wage will be $12 per hour.

At the Lake, the majority of Camden County voters voted for it, Miller County voters were narrowly for it (4,977 yes and 4,730 no), and Morgan County voters were strongly for the increase.

Prop D — Fuel Tax

Voters said a resounding “No” to the proposal to raise the fuel tax by 2.5 cents per gallon annually for four years.

At the Lake, the majority of Camden County voters, Miller County voters, and Morgan County voters were against raising the fuel tax.

Campaign Finance & Drawing Of Electoral Districts - ‘Clean Missouri’

The controversial Amendment 1 passed by a wide margin. The amendment proposed tighter limits on campaign contributions in Missouri, while also making new rules about “fair” redrawing of electoral districts in the state, putting the drawing of those districts into an unelected appointee determined by the State Auditor’s office. That amendment has already faced a legal challenge before the election, and may face more in coming days.

At the Lake, a large majority of Camden County voters voted yes, Miller County voters were nearly an even split (4,804 yes and 4,744 no), and Morgan County voters were narrowly for the change.

Bingo

Minimum wage got the goldmine, but bingo got the shaft. Missourians opted not to loosen restrictions on how bingo games can be advertised and who can run them.

At the Lake, the majority of Camden County voters voted yes, Miller County voters were against, and Morgan County voters were against the change.
