Describe the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in one word: Phenomenal

What do you like about the LOZ Shootout?

I like that it is promoting the Lake of the Ozarks and that it is the largest event of its kind.

Talk about your last year’s record:

It was the fastest that I have gone on the water, 94 mph. The water was pretty-well… perfect on Saturday with the exception of a little excessive wind.  I was hoping for a better speed on Sunday but, mother-nature just wasn't with us.

What is your racing strategy for the 2013 LOZ Shootout?

To increase my speed over 2012. I'm expecting triple digits.

When, where, and why did you first start racing?

1995 LOZ Shooters 21 Shootout. I wanted to prove that pontoons can be competitive and that PlayCraft can compete with the best of them.

What separates boating at Lake of the Ozarks from other destinations?

It just doesn't get any better than this, because we have the best of the best.

How does the LOZ Shootout event compare to other races?

There's no comparison.

Best racing memory:

In 2010 when one of our PlayCraft boats was the first pontoon boat to reach 100 mph with pilot Ken Goudy.

Worst racing memory:

I honestly don't have any bad memories in the Shootout.  Everything has always been a plus.

What do you do when you're not racing boats?

I build and design boats, fish, enjoy boating and most anything to do with water sports. I love to read and spend time with my wife. We enjoy our family and our grandkids.
