CAMDENTON, Mo. — Authorities say they are looking into the death of a man who was found dead in a vehicle at the Camdenton Wal-Mart on Monday.

According to Camdenton Police Chief Laura Wright, officers were called to the Wal-Mart parking lot at around 5:20 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16. Chief Wright says they found a male, deceased, in a vehicle. He was found in the rear cargo area of an SUV, on a mattress, with clothing around him, police say.

The man was later identified as 45-year-old James Edward Warner, of Joplin, Mo.

Wright said as of Tuesday morning there was no evidence of foul play. “We don’t see anything that’s overly concerning at this point, but we’re looking into it,” she told LakeExpo.com, noting the department typically investigates in these kinds of situations. Warner's body has been turned over to the medical examiner, and next-of-kin have been notified, police say.
