MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — A 19-year-old was hospitalized—and could face a DWI charge—after a crash along Highway 42 early Saturday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Brandon Palmer, of Dixon, was driving a 2007 Chevy Silverado west on Highway 42 when he drove off the left side of the road and hit a tree. After the collision, the vehicle caught fire, authorities say.

The Patrol reported Palmer was released for medical treatment but could face a charge of Driving While Intoxicated, as well as driving without insurance and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

He was taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
