OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Oasis Lake of the Ozarks has reached another construction milestone, with vertical work now underway on Dragon Run, the amusement park's signature roller coaster.
This family thrill coaster is inspired by the iconic twists and turns of the Lake of the Ozarks. Known for its serpentine shoreline, the Lake itself helped develop the coaster's winding layout.
“The Lake's distinctive shape has influenced the design of Oasis from the very beginning,” said Todd Schneider, operating partner of Oasis Lake of the Ozarks. “We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate one of Missouri's most recognizable landmarks than by creating a signature coaster that captures its sweeping curves and adventurous spirit.”
Dragon Run is a suspended roller coaster that races along nearly 1,500 feet of track at speeds up to 42 mph. Riders will plunge into a tunnel immediately after the lift hill before soaring through a series of smooth twists, sweeping curves, and a second underground dive before returning to the station.
Designed as a true family ride, Dragon Run features a 42-inch minimum height requirement, allowing parents, grandparents, and younger thrill seekers to experience the adventure together.
“We wanted a coaster that families could enjoy side by side,” Schneider said. “Dragon Run delivers plenty of excitement while remaining accessible to multiple generations.”
Dragon Run is the second roller coaster to be installed at Oasis, following completion of the Shootout Boomerang Coaster last month. When the amusement park opens, guests will enjoy 12 rides with no admission fee to enter. Visitors can purchase individual ride tickets or discounted ride packages, making the park an affordable option for families of all sizes.
The amusement park will be followed by the opening of the indoor water park and Marriott Resort & Conference Center at Oasis. Once complete, Oasis Lake of the Ozarks will operate year-round and feature multiple restaurants, a nearly 200-foot observation wheel, Missouri's largest indoor water park, and a 401-room Marriott resort.
