Lake of the Ozarks isn't just for summer fun: there are plenty of festivities and ways to enjoy the Christmas season. Here are 15 things to do during the holidays at the Lake:
For the 12th straight season, the city of Versailles will light up its city park for the Unity Circle of Lights from Nov. 28 - Jan. 1. The holiday light park is named after the "Unity Circle," a monument erected at the park entrance to show cooperation among various entities in the community and features as many as 40 lighted displays, including several animated holiday scenes for the family. Admission is free.
St. Patrick Festival of Lights will be open daily from 5 – 10 p.m. from Thanksgiving through January 1st. There is no charge for this beautiful light display, it is simply our gift to the community. With 4,000 strings of lights, over 60 automatic timers and more than 350 extension cords, the Festival of Lights has turned into one of the major places to see.
Drive through Osage Beach City Park to view and enjoy holiday-themed light displays. Open Wednesday – Sunday evenings from Nov. 30 - Dec. 29.
On Saturday, November 30 at around 6 p.m., the 18th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade will travel from Central Bank of the Ozarks to the Laurie Mall. This year's theme is "Have A Holly Jolly Christmas." This has become a tradition on the Westside so bring your family, friends and guests to see this special once a year event.
On Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 1 at 2 p.m., Steps will be hosting their 20th season of ‘The Nutcracker’ at School of the Osage, Cummings Auditorium located in Osage Beach, Missouri. General admission costs $10.
On Dec. 1, South Elementary School in Eldon will be transformed into the one and only Santa's North Pole workshop. There will hot chocolate and cookies, Christmas stories, games, activities, Santa letter writing, and reindeer food making all for free! Pictures with Santa will again be available for purchase at $3.
Throughout the month of December, the Lake Area Community Orchestra will be performing their Christmas concert all around the Lake. Concerts are free and open to the public; good will offerings are welcome! Click HERE for a full schedule.

Children and their parents are invited to attend the annual Christmas on the Square on the Courthouse Quadrant in downtown Camdenton on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Activities include games, ornament making, chocolate snowmen, prize drawings, craft tables, music, cookie decorating, petting zoo, hot dogs, hot chocolate, cookies, and more!
The Versailles Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Christmas Around Versailles on Dec. 7 from Noon - 6:30 p.m. Participating businesses will have Christmas goodies and specials throughout the day.
On Dec. 7 from 3 - 5 p.m., the Tri-County YMCA of the Ozarks is hosting this free event for our community to come together for Holiday fun. There will be soups, hot cocoa, cookie decorating, ornament making, games, and lots of Holiday Cheer. Also FREE Photos With SANTA!!!
The Lake Area Chorale will present an eclectic blend of classical, sacred, and contemporary seasonal music including a selection from Handel’s “The Messiah,” new as well as traditional versions of classic Christmas carols, and selections from movies and Broadway musicals on Dec. 8 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark and then again on Dec. 9 at Versailles Methodist Church, with both concerts beginning at 2 p.m.
Enjoy the sounds of the season presented by local musicians and choirs in the amazing natural acoustics of Stark Caverns on Dec. 11, 13, 18, and 22. Tickets are $5 per person for each event. Seating is limited, so reserve your spot now.
Join in on Dec. 14 at 9 am. for a celebration of the Christmas season throughout the museum including breakfast with Santa from 9 - 11 a.m., Christmas activities beginning at 10 a.m., and a presentation of "The One and Only Santa Clause" by the Young Museum Players at 2 p.m.
Celebrating the season and culminating a year of activities on the Bagnell Dam Strip, the parade kicks off at 1 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the corner of HH and 242. This year's parade theme is "Mowtown Christmas," and will include a performance from the Lawn Rangers who do lawn mower tricks! Santa’s Visit will be at Luby's Plaza!
