LAURIE, Mo. — A home in Laurie was severely damaged by fire on Tuesday morning.

Gravois Fire Protection District (GFPD) Firefighters were toned out to a structure fire at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23 to Saddle Road, off Route O, in Laurie. Neighbors had discovered the house on fire and called 911. The property owners were not at home at the time of the fire.

According to Gravois Fire Protection District Deputy Fire Chief Ron Anselmo, arriving firefighters discovered a second-tier, two-story, modular home heavily involved in fire on the second floor.

Firefighters made entry into the upstairs portion of the home, knocked the fire down and conducted overhaul. Firefighters left the scene at approximately 12 p.m.

There were no injuries. The GFPD responded with seven apparatus and 11 personnel. Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District provided mutual aid and responded with four personnel and one apparatus.

According to Chief Anselmo, the upstairs portion of the home was heavily damaged by fire and the downstairs area sustained smoke and water damage.

The State Fire Marshal was on the scene and an investigation into the cause of the fire will be conducted.
