CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A home on Tranquil Point Lane was destroyed by fire on Thursday night, Dec. 20. Authorities say no one was hurt.
At 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, the Mid-County Fire Protection District (MCFPD) was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Tranquil Point Lane off of Pier 31 Road just North of Camdenton. The initial 911 call indicated that the residential structure was well involved with fire.
Firefighters arrived to find a two-story residential structure fully involved in fire on the top floor and the roof had already collapsed. Firefighters began a defensive fire attack using a deck gun and several hose lines. The fire was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes.
The residence suffered significant fire damage and is considered a total loss. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
The fire is being investigated by the MCFPD Fire Marshal’s Office. At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined, but does not appear to be suspicious. The home owners were not home at the time of the fire.
The MCFPD responded with (2) Engines, (4) Tankers and a Heavy Rescue Unit. MCFPD was assisted at the scene by an Engine from the Osage Beach Fire Protection District, an Engine from the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District, the Camden County Ambulance District, Camden County Sheriff’s Office and Laclede Electric. Additionally, an Engine from the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District responded to Mid-County Station #1 in Camdenton to provide coverage for any additional calls.
There were no injuries reported with this incident.
All firefighters cleared the scene at 2 a.m.
