OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Two people are facing felony charges after authorities say they grabbed more than $4,000 worth of merchandise from the Coach outlet store and ran out the front door.
According to a probable cause document, at around 1:42 p.m. on Nov. 17, authorities were called to the store after the alleged theft. An employee reportedly told police that one male and two females had entered the store. She said the male, Ryan Helms, began asking her about products while the two women, Vernice Wyatt-Sampson and Tyra Watts, started grabbing purses and other merchandise, and then both women ran out the door, according to the document. Helms reportedly left the business too and all three got in an SUV.
The SUV was stopped near Highway 242 and Highway 54 in Miller County, and the two women were taken into custody and held on $15,000 bond.
Vernice Wyatt-Sampson and Tyra Watts, both of the Kansas City area, were charged with Class D Felony Stealing.
