The Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge came to Osage Beach on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24-25. The challenge took place in the Target parking lot, and it tested firefighters' fitness as they competed in a variety of tasks while wearing full gear.

Participants raced in pairs as they climbed a five-story tower, hoisted, chopped, dragged hoses and rescued a life-sized, 175-pound pretend-victim. Competitors raced against themselves, their opponents and the clock. And some non-firefighter members of the community joined in as well.
