The holidays bring a time of giving and cheer in the lake area. One organization has used the season as a teaching lesson for children who are either homeschooling, or dismissed to home for distance learning. The Lake Area Resource and Education Center will be hosting a series of after school projects aimed at sharing the spirit of giving and doing for others.
Volunteer Carnival - Nov. 5
The first activity of November’s Giving Days will be held at The Key Gathering Place in Camdenton on November 5th, from 3:30–5:30 p.m. with a Volunteer Carnival. The opportunity to give back to the community and pay it forward will have a little learning mixed in with a lot of fun. The Volunteer Carnival will show appreciation to those who help the community everyday, with kids and accompanying adults cleaning up outdoors at The Key facility. The Key Gathering Place has been acting as a host meeting place for the organization, and the Lake Area Resource and Education Center will give back by cleaning up the grounds and keeping it safe and fun for everybody. After the work ends, fun for all will be had inside with carnival games, prizes, and food to celebrate a job well done! Volunteers, bring your rakes and garden gloves.
