TRUMAN LAKE, Mo. — A Warsaw, Mo. man drowned while fishing alone on Truman Lake, on Sunday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 2013 Xpress bass boat belonging to 67-year-old Sherman Wright was found floating, unoccupied, on the lake, and authorities were notified. The Highway Patrol and Army Corps of Engineers responded with a recovery boat to begin dragging operations. Wright’s body was found in the area of Osage Bluff Marina, next to his fishing line, which had gotten tangled in a tree, the Patrol reported.

Wright was not wearing a life jacket, according to the MSHP report. Next of kin have been notified, and his body was taken to Research Funeral Home.
